The Austin Bruins have kicked off another season of junior hockey and are excited to bring Healthy Habits back into local schools. The mission of Healthy Habits is to build positive relationships with today’s youth by stressing the importance of exercising the body and mind, encouraging healthy eating choices, working against bullying, as well as teaching students Hockey 101. The anti-bullying segment is designed to help youth understand how bullying negatively impacts everyone, and Hockey 101 provides youth with an overview of hockey as a sport.
We have teamed up with McDonald's and Potach and Mitchell Dental Clinic to reward youth who make healthy choices. Students will receive a Healthy Habits punch card. As your child makes healthy choices you may punch their card. After making ten healthy choices, completed punch cards may be redeemed at the Bruins office for one student ticket to a home game, one McDonald’s Happy Meal, and a toothbrush. The Bruins office is located in Riverside Arena, 501 2nd Avenue N.E.
